How to Set Up a Wacom (Drawing) Tablet in GIMP (2018)

In this GIMP tutorial, I’ll show you how to set up a drawing tablet (I’m using a Wacom tablet) in the latest version of GIMP, GIMP 2.9.8 (also known as the development version). I’ll show you how to edit your preferences so that your tablet, rather than your mouse, is the default pointer option, and so that you can use the eraser on your pen tool PLUS brush dynamics.

I’ll also demonstrate what it looks like to use the paintbrush tool with the brush dynamics turned on so you can see some of the capabilities of using a Wacom drawing tablet in GIMP.

I’ll also show you how to customize the ExpressKeys or shortcut keys that are on your tablet hardware.
