Minecraft 1.17 is now out and it doesn’t include the needed pack.mcmeta file, so we have to get it somewhere else. Here is where to get pack.mcmeta and how to edit it so that it works with Minecraft 1.17 update.

00:00 The Minecraft 1.17.jar file doesn’t have pack.mcmeta
00:16 Open the Launcher and have a new folder ready
00:26 In Launcher open 1.17 folder in installations
00:39 Go into versions, and 1.16.5
00:50 Copy 1.16.5.jar to working folder
01:00 Change .jar to .zip
01:16 Open in new window
01:28 Copy pack.mcmeta and pack.png
01:40 Change pack_format to 7
01:54 This should be included in a future update
