In this GIMP 2.10 tutorial, I show you how to create a fantasy beach scene (a.k.a. an “other-worldly” beach or beach on an alien planet) by compositing and blending multiple photos together. This is a fairly advanced photo manipulation tutorial, though I explain thoroughly in a way that is easy for beginners to understand and follow.
To achieve this composition, I use a variety of techniques – including layer blend modes, image adjustments such as color balance, levels, and hue shifting, custom brushes, and shading using the dodge/burn tool.
