This tutorial goes over some of the basics of how to use the GIMP Image Manipulation Program. GIMP can be downloaded for free at Gimp.org and is basically the free version of Photoshop. Though this tutorial uses GIMP 2.6, it can also be applied to version GIMP 2.8. Included in this tutorial is how to use the tools in the toolbar, and how to work with layers and the layers panel.
